WrestleMania 42 pulled from New Orleans

WrestleMania will no longer be held in New Orleans in 2026, despite being officially announced earlier this year. In a statement provided to Wrestlenomics on Thursday, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed the major change, noting that WWE’s flagship event has been rescheduled for an unspecified future year.

Instead, New Orleans will now host the 2026 edition of Money in the Bank, one of WWE’s key premium live events. This development comes as part of a broader, multi-year agreement currently being negotiated between local New Orleans officials and TKO— the parent company of WWE and UFC.

“We are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership,” said the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. “This includes confirming Money in the Bank in 2026 and moving WrestleMania from 2026 to a future year.”

No new location has yet been confirmed for WrestleMania 42, and the reasons behind the change remain unclear. However, speculation is already mounting that the event could head overseas — with London and Saudi Arabia among the candidates, should WWE finally follow through on years of international interest.
