WWE Raw Review (May 19, 2025)
By DK01__

Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker are shown entering the building. World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso also does the same.
Logan Paul kicks off the show
Logan Paul kicked off Raw by confidently declaring that it’s a fact he’ll beat Jey Uso this Saturday and walk out as the new World Heavyweight Champion. The Greenville crowd wasn’t having any of it and let him know with loud boos. Logan fired back, saying the crowd simply doesn’t like hearing the truth. He started rattling off a few digs at Jey, which only fuelled the “yeet” chants — much to Logan’s frustration. He reminded everyone, not once but three times, that he’s knocked out Jey Uso in the past.
That’s when Gunther interrupted.
Gunther pointed out that if Logan thinks he can beat Jey, then by extension, he must think he’s better than the man who lost the title to Jey. That’s a bold claim, and Gunther was quick to say that while Paul should be confident and the crowd should maybe respect him more, this is personal now.
Gunther praised Logan’s business mind and even admitted he might learn something from him. But then his tone shifted — he made it clear that beating Jey is about more than gold. It’s about redemption. And if Logan takes that opportunity away from him, Gunther will treat it as personal disrespect. The vibe changed fast. Gunther warned Paul to ask Pat McAfee what happens when non-wrestlers step into his world. At least McAfee had some fight in him. When Gunther looks at Logan? He doesn’t see that. And when the bell rings, Gunther promised to eat him alive.
As Gunther walked off, Logan tried to save face by yelling back — but then Jey Uso hit the ring out of nowhere, hopping the barricade and blasting Paul with a Superkick. Big pop. Jey grabbed a mic, looked right into the camera, and simply said: “See you Saturday, Logan… and Gunther? I’ll see you after that.”
Thoughts: Logan Paul is really bad on the mic, and this one dragged until Gunther saved it. Gunther came off like an absolute killer, and Jey’s Superkick finally gave the crowd something to explode for. Not perfect, but it worked.
AJ Styles & Penta vs. Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh (w/ Carlito)
Winners: Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh
A fun tag match kicked off in-ring action. Penta was white-hot throughout, while Styles showed flashes of his TNA prime with a vintage moonsault DDT to the outside. JD McDonagh, consistently the most underappreciated cog in Judgement Day, was crisp and made both opponents look electric.
Things broke down late in typical Judgement Day fashion. Carlito got involved, Penta hit a wild Mexican Destroyer on the ring steps, and the masked El Grande Americano showed up from the crowd to headbutt Penta with what looked like a loaded mask. That opened the door for Bálor to hit the Coup de Grâce and steal the win for his team.
Thoughts: Really fun tag match. Styles was dialled in and Penta is always a crowd-pleaser. McDonagh deserves credit for being the glue guy here. Styles and Penta remain an unlikely but dynamic pair, and this felt like Act I of a longer feud.
Money in the Bank Qualifier: Becky Lynch vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Natalya
Winner: Roxanne Perez
This was a slow burner. Lynch tried to recruit Perez early but got played. The crowd wasn’t super into it at first, but once Perez started stringing offense together, they woke up.
Natalya pulled off the double Sharpshooter, which popped the vets in the crowd. Becky nearly had it with a Manhandle Slam, but Lyra Valkyria pulled her out of the ring and they started scrapping. Perez snuck in, hit Pop Rocks on Nattie, and got the big win.
Thoughts: Solid triple threat with a hot finish. Roxanne winning is the right call — she’s got the edge, and the crowd is starting to buy in.
Sheamus vs. Grayson Waller (w/ Austin Theory)
Winner: Sheamus
This was real fun. Sheamus just bullied Waller around the ring for ten minutes and the crowd loved it. Waller got a few licks in thanks to Theory’s distraction, but the big story was Waller and Theory not being on the same page.
After some arguing between them, Sheamus pulled Waller back in and hit the Ten Beats of the Bodhran before murdering him with a Brogue Kick. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
Thoughts: This was classic TV wrestling. Sheamus looks phenomenal since returning, and Waller is the kind of heel you just want to see get his teeth kicked in. The split with Theory is really overdue.
Money in the Bank Qualifier: Rhea Ripley vs. Kairi Sane vs. Zoey Stark
Winner: Rhea Ripley
Rough one here. Zoey Stark tweaked her knee early and had to be taken out of the match, turning this into an impromptu singles bout between Rhea and Kairi
To their credit, they made it work. Kairi went all out, hitting some stiff strikes and signature stuff like the Sliding D. But Rhea caught her coming off the top and nailed the Riptide to get the win.
Thoughts: Zoey going down really changed the pacing and ruined the vibe. Hope she’s okay. We’ll see how that plays out.
Main Event: Jey Uso (c) vs. Bron Breakker (w/ Paul Heyman)
Result: DQ by Seth Rollins attacking Jey Uso
Jey Uso continues to look like he belongs in this spot. Bron dominated early — he tossed Jey like a ragdoll and hit that terrifying Breakinsteiner off the top for a near fall. But Jey fed off the crowd, hit the Samoan Drop, and nearly stole it.
Heyman got involved. Bron brought in a chair. Jey looked like he had it under control… until Seth Rollins ran in from behind and dropped him. DQ.
Sami Zayn ran out. Crowd got louder.
CM Punk’s music hit.
Greenville LOST THEIR MINDS. Punk and Sami cleared house. The brawl spilled into the crowd.
Logan Paul showed up and hit Jey with one final knockout punch to close the show. Booos everywhere.
Thoughts: Hot crowd, hot closing segment, hot babyfaces. This was Attitude Era energy. Punk got a monster pop, Jey looked great, and Rollins’ faction feels dangerous. You can’t ask for much more from a Raw main event.
Overall thoughts: 8/10
This was a damn good Raw. Everything tied together. Seth’s faction was a presence throughout the night. The crowd in Greenville showed up. Even with the Logan Paul’s promo dragging and Zoey’s unfortunate injury, the match quality was good and the storytelling clicked.
